Traveling in Greece is more than just indulging in exquisite food and wine; it’s about stepping beyond your comfort zone, embracing unforgettable experiences, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

As we guide you through the diverse wonders of our homeland, you’ll be captivated by its endless beauty, history, and culture. Greece is more than just a destination—it’s a rich mosaic of traditions, breathtaking landscapes, and a timeless spirit.

Unwind, explore, and let Greece awaken your senses, ignite your passion for nature, and inspire a newfound love for life.

THE JOURNEY

Our Paradisial Peloponnese tour begins in Athens, the heart of civilization and a city of captivating contrasts. We welcome you under the stars, offering dramatic views of the Acropolis and a delicious Greek dinner to kick off your adventure. The next day, embark on an in-depth private guided tour of Athens, where you’ll delve into the city’s rich history, ancient landmarks, and vibrant culture with our expert local guide. Visit iconic sites like the Acropolis, Parthenon, Temple of Olympian Zeus, and the Panathenaic stadium, while uncovering the fascinating stories behind each. Visit the Acropolis Museum, where you’ll marvel at the treasures that bring Athens’ ancient past to life. Explore charming neighborhoods and hidden historical gems, with personalized insights along the way. This exclusive experience invites you to immerse yourself in Athens at your own pace, ensuring an unforgettable journey through Greece’s timeless capital.

Travel to the Corinth Canal and experience the engineering marvel of a stunning 6.3 km (3.9 miles) waterway that connects the Aegean and Ionian Seas, separating the Peloponnese peninsula from mainland Greece. Reach Ancient Corinth, surrounded by fertile plains and blessed with natural springs, where the ruins of ancient structures are remarkably well-preserved, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the ancient world. The road leads us to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, a one-of-a-kind archaeological site famous for its symmetry and incredible acoustics. Spend the night in Nafplion, the first capital of Greece and one of the country’s most elegant and romantic cities. The beautiful old city has a wealth of narrow alleyways and a lovely seafront promenade but the best is perhaps just watching the sun coloring the bay an ecstatic red. End your day by discovering the flavors of the Aegean in a hands-on seafood cooking class led by a local chef, then savor your creations with stunning views of Nafplion’s harbor.

Travel to the heart of the Ancient Greek Civilization, Mycenae, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the center of Mycenaean civilization (circa 1600-1100 BC). Explore the imposing Lion Gate, the main entrance adorned with lion carvings, and the Treasury of Atreus, an impressive beehive tomb believed to be the burial site of Agamemnon. Afterwards, visit a hidden gem of Greece, Ancient Nemea. Explore the remains of the Doric-style Temple of Zeus dating back to the 6th century BC, and the Ancient Stadium, which once hosted the Nemean Games, one of the major Panhellenic athletic festivals. Visitors can still see the starting line, seating areas, and the well-preserved track. Tip: You can even try running the track yourself! Taste the exceptional Agiorgitiko wine, steeped in myth and legend. According to ancient tales, when Hercules defeated the Nemean Lion and wore its invulnerable skin as a cloak, the blood of the lion is said to have given rise to the deep red hue of Agiorgitiko wine. Locals fondly refer to it as the “Blood of Hercules.” Reach Monemvasia, an exceptionally well-preserved medieval castle well hidden from the land. The unique ambiance of the castle offers the visitor a journey back in time, a benchmark for his traveling experience.

Our next destination is the picturesque town of Gytheio, where Paris and Helen spent time before sailing to Troy, which led to the famous Trojan War. Explore the Diros Caves, a breathtaking natural wonder in Greece, famous for its 1,600-meter underground river. As you journey through winding tunnels and caverns, uncover a surreal world of magnificent stalactites and stalagmites within the vast subterranean chamber. Continue with a visit to the Monument of Leonidas in Sparta, which is a tribute to King Leonidas I, the legendary Spartan warrior-king who led the 300 Spartans against the Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae (480 BC).

Visit Ancient Olympia, a breathtaking landscape of natural beauty and the birthplace of the Olympic Games. Strolling through the Ancient Stadium, you can stand where athletes competed for glory over 2,000 years ago. This sacred site once housed the colossal Statue of Zeus, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, a testament to Olympia’s grandeur and historical significance. Reach Kalavryta, a picturesque mountain town that radiates a peaceful, timeless charm. Whether blanketed in snow during winter or bursting with greenery in spring, the stunning landscape never fails to captivate.

Ride the famous Odontotos Rack Railway, one of the most beautiful and unique train routes in Greece, offering a breathtaking journey through Vouraikos Canyon. Reach Loutraki, the oldest bath city in Greece dating back to antiquity and the favorite city of the Gods. Finally, immerse yourself in the beauty of the Temple of Hera, a timeless sanctuary of serenity and spiritual grace before we head back to Athens.

Couple Traveller

Every aspect of this trip was fantastic, including the accommodations, the food and the historical sites that we visited such as the Acropolis, ancient Mycenae, Epidaurus and Olympia. Our friendly tour operator, George, made sure that everything ran very smoothly and efficiently while still enjoying a relaxed, unhurried pace. Our knowledgeable guide, Babis, entertained and informed us with interesting stories about Greek culture, mythology and history. All of the accommodations were very comfortable and each offered something unique, ranging from the opulent hotel in Athens with great views of the Parthenon and the Temple of Zeus, to the charming turn of the century seaside inn at Nafplion, to a medieval castle in Monemvasia with a great view of the Aegean Sea. We enjoyed delicious, plentiful meals every day at authentic Greek restaurants, many of which were at beautiful seaside locations. The tour also featured unique attractions like the very memorable waterway tour of the Diros caves with its many stalactites and stalagmites. All in all, Pictours of Greece’s Paradisial Peloponnese tour richly deserves its 5 star rating.

This was the perfect tour from beginning to end! We wanted to review this tour because of the outstanding personnel attention to detail that George provided. From the amazing restaurants, food selections, hotels and destinations, every decision was planned with care. Our guide Stevie was also incredible, she simplified the confusing world of Greek Mythology with a sense of humor. We all had a wonderful time, learned a lot and laughed even more!

Major highlights were: each meal being preplanned and designed to sample all different, unique foods; having the guide be able to fully explain each area we saw; adapting to our interests. The combination of museum tours and walking tours was perfect! George and Stevie made this tour!

There were so many highlights, including the exceptional and personal service! The Acropolis & Olympia were two favorites, but eating the most delicious food was hard to beat. All in all, the tour was way above average and the attention to detail was fantastic!
